Beautifully written and so relatable, Kendra! I also have frequently fallen into the trap of thinking getting a chance to take care of basic needs is enough self care and feeling guilt over doing anything extra that actually IS self-care... I’m glad you got the lattes!

Aww I really enjoyed this! I love that you captured so perfectly that it’s never really about appontment (or things. It made me laugh cuz so much of my newly married years was learning this over + over again) and the backwards planning/balancing all the schedules the stay at home parent endures. 🤍

Is really never is about the appointments! An important lesson; and one I'm still learning. Thank you so much for reading and taking the time to comment!

Good work Kendra—as a person, a wife, a mom, a writer! I totally remember the bitter voice that popped out more frequently than I was used to when I was a stay-at-home mom over the summer. My husband just came home from a long day at work, but especially on days the baby's naps were short I was ready to pass the baby baton to him and felt jealous about his adult interactions at times. I enjoyed reading! P.S. I'm glad you enjoyed your dental appointment haha

I really enjoyed reading this! I can't say I've ever had an enjoyable dental exam, haha, but I can relate to everything else you wrote. I subscribed, can't wait to read more :)
